I am pleased to provide you with the Handbook of South West Volleyball. It is intended as a year book for our volleyball players and as a general source of information on volleyball in the SW. The SW Volleyball Association is the largest of the Volleyball England regions.
It has sustained its growth with the consolidation of local leagues in Bristol, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, and Exeter. There are also strong pockets of volleyball activity in Plymouth, North Devon, Somerset and Cornwall.
Congratulations to the winners of the 2016-17 senior competitions: SW Mens League – City of Bristol; SW Womens League – Yeovil; SW Championships Men – City of Bristol; SW Championships Women – Bristol; Veterans Tournament – Bournside.
In the Men’s and Women’s Super 8 Leagues we are represented by Team BU Wessex, while in total the region is represented by 23 teams in the national leagues from Super 8s down to NVL Division 3. Our regional league is well supported and you will find details of entries and fixtures at the end of this handbook. I hope we will all do our best this season to promote the game of volleyball in the SW and keep this the strongest region in the country.
