Killerton House “Come and Try It”

kirton-2161_webMost of you will be aware that the National Trust would like us to make more use of their properties for events and tournaments (see news/national-trust-properties ).

This week I had the opportunity to run a public “Come and Try It” volleyball session at Killerton House near Exeter and hence see how this may work. As well as the NT event managers, Sport England’s Relationship Manager Simon Ridd also dropped in to see how it was going. We had one issue with the venue, if you would like a copy of my report, please email me.

We put up three nets at ladies and junior heights plus a number of banners. Not too many customers, mostly under 10′s and a hand full of adults joined in.

Volleyball England has agreed to provide a free net for the remainder of the summer, this will be put up later this week and will be available for anyone to use. Free public access is available to this area, just sign the attendance sheet in the sports equipment box next to the court.
