CPSU 2015 Safeguarding Stars Selection Panel

The NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit are looking for 2 or 3 young people aged 18-21 from volleyball to assist in selecting winners of their ‘Safeguarding Stars’.  This meeting with tale place in Leicester on either 6th or 7th August and you will also be needed for an event in Birmingham in October (date TBC).  Travel will be reimbursed by the CPSU for both events.  Please let me know by Monday 1st June if you are interested.  If you are aged 22-24 and interested, please let me know as you may still be able to be considered.

Volunteer Pin Badges

The input from volunteers at all levels is hugely appreciated by Volleyball England.  To link in with the importance of volunteers in the Olympics and Paralympics and the significant of pin badges at the events, we launched commemorative Volleyball England volunteer pin badges in 2012.  This scheme is still in operation.  If you or someone you know has volunteered for 5 years or more in any capacity in volleyball (e.g. as a coach, as an official, on a club or regional committee, at volleyball events etc) and would like a pin badge, please contact Emma Butterworth (PA to the Chief Executive and Board) on e.butterworth@volleyballengland.org

1st European Games – Baku

While not a volunteering opportunity, I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know (if you have not already heard) that we are delighted that Chris Gregory and Jake Sheaf have been selected to represent Team GB in the 1st European Games from 12-28 June 2015 in Baku, Azerbaijan.  Please see this link for further details: http://www.volleyballengland.org/news/article/5051/beach-volleyball-pair-selected-for  There will be coverage on BBC and BT Sport and we will be sharing this via out website and social media once details are confirmed.

If you have successfully applied to volunteer there or are going as a spectator, do let me know as it would be great to find out about other members of the volleyball community who will be there too in whatever capacity!

Thank you for your ongoing support of volleyball.

Best wishes, Ilona
