The South West Regional Boys Training Squad

The SW Training Squads are part of the English Volleyball Association Regional Talent Development Programme. Training is offered to boys under the age of 18. (There is also a girls programme.) 

There are two training sessions ;

Under 15 Boys

Under 17 Boys 

Every year players are invited to trial for a place in the training squad. To attend a training session see the Calendar and click on the link to register a place. 

It is unusual for there not to be enough places for everyone to attend several sessions. 

Objectives 

To offer opportunities for young players to improve their play by working with the regional squad coaches. 

To have the opportunity to meet other young players from around the region and enjoy working with a large ?same age group?. 

To prepare Regional Representative teams to compete in the National Inter Regional Championships.

Commitment 

Players who want to succeed in reaching the representative team will be expected to attend training sessions regularly.

The Inter Regional Championships is held during the early May Bank Holiday

Teams will also be entered in other competitions during the training period. 

Costs

The staff are all volunteers but  unfortunately it is necessary to charge fees for training and events.  

Training fees this season will be ?2 per hour (Max 4 hours) can do as many hours as you like.  These are usually subsidised by the EVA.
