Mini-Volleyball Grand Prix – Hutton Moor 3rd December

Another exciting round of Mini-volleyball book place on
Saturday. There was a lot of enthusiasm
from all the players and the improvement in all age groups was apparent from
the first event and also as the tournament progressed. The development of skills was clearly apparent
through the age groups, from catch and volley in the U12, where the children were
clearly getting used to their serves and a quick dig to finish the point; to
the U15 where skilful three-touch volleyball was the order of the day.
There were a lot of tight matches, with some of the more decisive
ones being decided by the odd point. It
was nice to see that new teams won all the divisions compared to the first
tournament and the Grand Prix looks wide open as it approaches the next round
on Saturday 28th January 2012.
A very big thank you to Sarah and King Alfred’s who took
their turn to organise the event on the day, to Steffen who did the order of
play and looks after the overall results, to Ron for all his efforts in the
background, to Dave for all his work on the website and to all the players,
parents and coaches who took part on the day.
