PMVC are holding a 25 hour volleyball marathon on the 6th and 7th September 2013. The event will begin at the Life Centre at 17:00 on 6/9/2013 and end at 18:00 on 7/9/2013.

We are hosting this event for the following reasons:

  • To Celebrate 25 years since the formation of the EDVA
  • To celebrate one year on from London 2012
  • To raise the profile of all the forms of Volleyball to be enjoyed in the 2013/14 in Plymouth and the local area
  • To raise money for charity – our chosen charity is Heartswell SW which is a registered charity committed to supporting heart patients, their partners and carers across the Westcountry.

The programme for the days (and night) will include a range of activities including preseason friendly fixtures for each of our PMVC teams (2 in EDVA Division 1, 1 in SW Ladies and 1 in SW Mens Leagues), a through-the-night king and queen of the court competition for anyone to enter, as well as Junior, Adult and sitting volleyball coaching sessions on the Saturday afternoon. (The full programme of events is still to be formalised and will be dependant on availability of teams for friendlies.)

The event is open to all to participate and you do not have to be part of the PMVC club to be a part of the action. You don’t have to do the whole 25 hours either so it doesn’t matter whether you are young or old, a beginner or experienced or an individual or a team we will welcome you to get involved.

If you are a player, part of an EDVA or local league team, or a SW Men’s or Ladies side and want to challenge one of our teams, please contact Rob Young on 07584 688282 or email on ryoung6189@gmail.com so we can provide you with the necessary sponsorship forms to be a part of the action – we will also be happy for people to join in on the action on the day where our organisers will be happy to receive any donations towards the event.

The event is kindly sponsored by the Life Centre, Dominos Pizza and Lang & Potter –
