Strength & conditioning for volleyball

  1. Strength & conditioning for volleyball – NEW – 11 May (UEL) & 19 May (Salford)
This has been developed as two pilot workshops, supported by two of our VRMs (Rachel & Steve).

We do not cover this topic in depth on any of our courses (due to time and specialist knowledge). And as we review our pathway, we want to test the demand and how this topic could work as a standalone workshop.

Coaches have been asking for this for a while and we want to see what the real demand is. We are in the fortunate position of having the S&C expert who is working with our Talent Lead to formulate and deliver the course, Gary Hutt.
It is aimed at all coaches and players with an interest in S&C for volleyball.

What we need from the regional associations?

Please can you advertise it to all your contacts? The price is a typical workshop price (£30  for members, £40 non-members). We want to get at least 10 coaches / players on each pilot.
The aim is not to make a profit from these, hence the price. The aim is to test the content, the market and then see if they are wanted and are viable. If so, we could run one per region per year? What do you think?

  1. How to coach on the beach – AMENDED – 11 &12 June (Kettering)
This is a modified version of the L2 bolt on beach course that we ran last year. It is being pitched as the entry point to start coaching on the beach, so slightly lower than last year. We have a demand from participation to get beach sites working, and with this, staff that are confident to lead beach sessions.
It is aimed at all coaches, those who have yet to start coaching and players: basically those interested in starting to coach on the beach so we can build activity and numbers.
It will be the only course that we run for beach this year and will be delivered by Denise Austin, our lead beach tutor.

We currently don’t have the numbers to run these regionally, hence doing one at the National Volleyball Centre.
