There’s exciting news as the Super 8s Playoff Finals weekend will be streamed live on the BBC Sport website.
Viewers all over the world will be able to tune in this Saturday and Sunday (May 5 and 6) to watch both legs of the men’s and women’s Super 8s Finals, as well as the Sitting Volleyball Grand Prix Final via the BBC Sport website.
On Saturday, Team Northumbria and Team Durham will kick off the live coverage at 13:15 in the first leg of the women’s Super 8s Final. The men’s first leg match, which sees reigning champions IBB Polonia London take on Team Northumbria, will be live from 15:45pm on the BBC Sport website too.
The following day, Sitting Volleyball will take centre stage as the Grand Prix Final of East London Lynx vs. Sheffield Volleyball Club is live from 10:45am. The second leg of the women’s and men’s final will follow at 13:15pm and 15;45pm respectively.
Following on from the success of the live coverage of the National Cup Finals last month, the contract was signed with the BBC this week to stream the Super 8s Finals weekend.
The coverage will again include a scoreboard and live commentary. The filming is being provided by Rebel Media – the University of Essex student media team, who provided the coverage for the National Finals.
The students have been practising for the event for months and are helping provide this great platform for the sport as volunteers and are using their own equipment.
