Offering Opportunities to People with Disabilities

The groundwork for developing sitting volleyball in Plymouth and the surrounding area is slowly being put in place with open sessions at the Plymouth Marjon Sports Club and in conjunction with the Robert Owen Communities (ROC). ROC is a learning disability charity that works in partnership with Active Devon and various wheel chair sports in this area.

Regular weekly clubs are currently being set up in Plymouth, Torbay and Exeter and we hope to add standing & sitting volleyball to these sessions, many thanks to Andrew Potter, Chris Teo, Carla Carr and others for this work.

Photo’s from today’s “Inspirational Multi-sports Event” at the Torbay LC, Paignton with some 30 to 40 young adults (I lost count). Many thanks to Plymouth Marjon for setting the event up and to the EDVA & Torexe for providing the equipment.

FYI some of the other organisations involved at this event were: Devon RFU, Exeter Harriers Athletics Club & Devon FA.
