This years Inter Regional Beach Championships (U18) takes place at the Cardiff Beach Centre over the weekend of the 13-14th July, and the Small Nations Beach Championships (U19) takes place over the weekend of the 9-11th Aug.
As a region we do extramly well at these events, a number of our 2023 SW players have moved on to represent England this summer, so we will be looking for several new players to join our U18 & U19 teams.
U18 Inter-Regional Beach Championships 13-14th July (players must be 17 or younger on 31/12/24)
The SWVA will be competing against the other Regions, each team is four players, playing in two pairs. We have set up a number of training and selection days during June and July. We ask that you attend as many as you can, venues are currently being booked, but please reserve the dates.
U19 Small Nations Beach Championships 9-11th August (players must be 18 or younger on 31/12/24)
As a U19 event, we can also welcome back some of players from last season. This year we will be competing against Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Gibraltar and England.
Training / Selection
We are in the process of booking the following dates, where courts permit, we will run 4 hour Girls and Boys sessions at the same time, where courts are limited, the sessions will be staggered.
- 16th June (Sun) – SW Beach U18 & U19 Training / Selection – Venue TBC
- 22nd June (Sat) – SW Beach U18 & U19 Training / Selection – Venue TBC
- 30th June (Sun) – SW Beach U18 & U19 Training / Selection – Venue TBC
- 6th July (Sat) – SW Beach U18 & U19 Training – Venue TBC
We are looking for focus, speed, motivation, teamwork, the skills and the passion to play beach volleyball. You don’t need to be tall and the youngest member of the 2022 team was 13, so give it a go.
Qualification: You need to be resident, play for a club or go to school in the SWVA Region, that’s a SW England county or South Wales. If you also qualify for Wales, you can choose which region to represent.

- Signed parental consent form (if new to the IRC/IRB program)
- Sun cream (high SPF)
- After sun
- Sunglasses
- Packed lunch & snacks
- Water
- Towel
- Change of clothes
