Sitting Volleyball

swva_sitting_red_200Sitting Volleyball in the South West region is in its infancy but there are a number of clubs where sitting volleyball is played plus a number of courses have been organised.

Our aim is to see a South West representative team, reguarly taking part in the UK Grand Prix series.

We would like to hear from anyone in the region who would like to get involved or are looking to introducing Sitting Volleyball into their clubs or local association.

For more information about sitting volleyball in the area, please contact Andrew Potter popotter40@hotmail.com

Great Britain men finish with heads held high

Great Britain’s men finished 8th overall in the Paralympic Sitting Volleyball tournament, after a straight-sets defeat to China at the ExCeL this afternoon (Friday).

As with Wednesday’s match against Paralympic champions Iran, they looked the better side for periods, and could easily have taken third set, which was level at 22-22 before the Chinese scored three quick points to seal victory.

GB secured victory over Morocco in the group stages, to secure a quarter-final place.
