Invictus Games Launched in London

Invictus Games Launched in London

HRH Prince Harry, launched a new international competition for wounded, injured and sick service personnel yesterday. The Invictus Games, has been launched following the Prince being inspired by the Warrior Games in the US last year. The games will take place in September this year, in London and will include over 300 athletes from around the world. The Invictus Games is presented by Jaguar Land Rover

The launch took place at the Copperbox yesterday, during the presentations Prince Harry Said “I have witnessed first-hand how the power of sport can positively impact the lives of wounded, injured and sick Servicemen and women in their journey of recovery.  The Invictus Games will focus on what they can achieve post injury and celebrate their fighting spirit, through an inclusive sporting competition that recognises the sacrifice they have made.  I am extremely proud that we are bringing an event like this to the UK for the first time and believe it can have a long lasting impact on the well-being of those who have served their nations so bravely.”

Following the presentations the Prince joined members of the Battleback Sitting Volleyball team for a quick game.
