Expanding on the success of the IRB & JCC events this summer, a new U17 Inter-Beach Club event has been added to the 2023 summer program for our younger members to take part in. That’s anyone who is 16 or younger in 2023 will be eligible.
It will be open to teams from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland. It will be teams of four boys or four girls following our dual format with two teams of two pairs forming the squad.
The match formate will be the same as used in the IRB and similar team events: Club A Pair #1 v Club B Pair #1 / Club A Pair #2 v Club B Pair #2. If a draw in matches then the 15 point ‘Golden Set’ is the means to determine the winner of the dual.
We will ask for Club entries (max three teams per club) from the 1st Dec 2022 and close entries by the 1st May 2023. Once entries are closed, we shall notify you of the rounds, location, hosts etc etc.
It might be four locations with two from each location going to the finals, or it could be six locations with one from each location with two wild cards. Until we receive all the entries we won’t know but we will endeavour to minimise travel time, maximise playing time.
The regional rounds will be a one day event (please block out both days because some venues will have boys and girls on the same day others might have to run over two days, this is all tbc) with the finals over two days. The Club Cup Finals will be on the weekend of the 29/30th July at the Cardiff Beach Centre.
