The SWVA works with Volleyball England as part of the Regional Talent Development Programme. Training is offered for young people at Under 15 and Under 17 for boys and Under 14 and Under 16 for girls. Selection for admittance to SW training is open to all young people in these age groups and up to 2 years younger. Regional training starts in September and continues until the National Inter Regional Championships in May.
Dates for this year training for both the Girls and Boys are now listed on the Calendar, with the boys starting on the 14th Sep (Exeter) and the Girls on the 28th Sep (Burham on Sea).
Objectives:
- The training is run to offer opportunities for young players to improve their play by working with the regional squad coaches.
- To have the opportunity to meet other young players from around the region and enjoy working with a large ‘same age group’.
- To prepare Regional Representative teams to compete in the National Inter Regional Championships.
